Spring Time 4

Three collages in a series of six exhibited at Lamington Drive gallery in Collingwood, Melbourne as part of the group show Springtime #4, curated by artist Melissa Grisancich. The Spring Stretch paper collages were influenced by my early morning routine of stretching and then walking or jogging to the beach. Dew drops captured on petals and leaves reflected the light and surrounding colours as the sun began to rise. This small moment in my day became a visual treat that I looked forward to seeing again and again. I decided to recreate my morning routine using paper cutouts of semi-precious stones, which look almost transparent as they appear to balance or hang suspended on photographed floral arrangements.
