Apple Isle Pincushion #6
Apple Isle Pincushion #6
This was exhibited in the Causes of Failure in Jam exhibition, April-May 2019
An apple shaped coaster made of wood, found in Tasmania and later engraved with my own drawings. My original paper collages for the exhibition were digitally printed on cotton sateen fabric - these make use of the leftover, unused prints that form the pincushion part, which is stuffed with offcuts of bamboo wadding from other works. The edges are painted with black acrylic paint, adorned with plastic pearls and sealed with resin. I was feeling quite inspired by Anna Sui at the time.
